Supported by the Gannett Foundation, this facilitated, interactive workshop is for journalists, editors, designers, developers, tech support and those concerned about digital security in the newsroom.
We’ll start the day with an overview on new and emerging international/national security issues, then provide practical tips in a digital security toolbox session, arming journalists with easy-to-access tools to protect themselves and their sources. The afternoon will focus on hands-on teamwork, taking a human-centered design approach to how journalists and technologists can create better tools and processes for enhanced digital security.
Facilitators will include industry experts from CommunityRed, Freedom of the Press Foundation, International Center for Journalists, The New York Times, Reporters Without Borders, Stanford d.school, Tech Republic, Washington Post and more.
ONAdCAmp: Digital Security will run 10:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. at National Public Radio, 1111 N. Capitol Street, Washington, D.C.
