AMP Fall 2018 - Rock Bands Sign-Ups
Ready to join a band and play some exciting shows?? Well wait no more...AMP Jams Fall Rock Bands start rehearsals in late September!

AMP musicians will be placed into a band that will rehearse at a set weekly rehearsal time for 10 weeks this fall. AMP's rehearsal space is located in downtown Indio, CA. After Week 6, your band will be booked for real performances around our community. The session will culminate in a final showcase on December 8, 2018.

Submit this form at the latest by September 10th. This ensures that you will have a chance to be assigned to a Rock Band by Sept 17.

We work hard to ensure that everyone who wants to be able to participate in our AMP Jams experience is able to. However, due to the delicate nature of band lineups and rehearsal availabilities, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOU A SPOT IN A BAND. The best way to increase your chances of being in a band is to submit a wide range of availability.

Participation in the AMP Fall 2018 session costs $200, and there is partial and full Tuition Assistance available. If you are applying for Tuition Assistance, please fill out the form below and email it to info@ampcv.org. Payment for the Fall session is due on September 30, 2018. A special thanks to all of our generous donors and sponsors who allow us to subsidize most of our costs and to offer this session to families at an affordable price. AMP asks that students and/or guardians receiving Tuition Assistance volunteer with AMP no less than 2 times during the Fall session.

**AMP's Rock Band program serves to broaden and enhance your musical learning, but is *not* a substitute for instruction on your primary instrument - if it is at all possible, we encourage you to start or continue taking lessons on your instrument while participating in AMP programming!

AMP programming is open to all qualified young musicians in the Coachella Valley between 10-18 years old. Acceptances are dependent upon the results of a live audition and current capacity of the program.

If you have not participated in any AMP programming before, we need to see a video audition from you and schedule a time for an interview. Please contact us at info@ampcv.org and check out our audition requirements.

Program Descriptions
AMP ROCK BAND
Every week, you and a band of other passionate young musicians meet to rehearse a set of music that you choose with your band coach. This can be your original music and covers of songs you love (not genre-specific). After some weeks of rehearsal, you will have many public performance opportunities around the community that you and your band will be able to play. Give yourselves a name, and make memories (and show posters) that will last you a lifetime.

Other potential programming offered this session (depending on enrollment numbers and availability):

OPEN JAMS
No need to RSVP for these, but we will hold regular Open Jam sessions, where you can drop in to get together with other AMPers (and potential AMPers) and jam with a coach - no rehearsal, just for the fun of making music. Feel free to bring friends who would be interested in AMP!

VOCAL GROUP LESSON
This 2hr. masterclass will dive into the voice as an instrument, specifically on performance in a band.

GUITAR GROUP LESSON
This intensive masterclass will focus on key ingredient to expand your lead guitar or rhythm playing. Lesson plans will be posted in advance and it will be helpful to show up prepared to make the most of the session.

SONGWRITER’S WORKSHOP
Every other week, we have a meetup of AMP students who are particularly interested in the art of songwriting and everything that goes with it. Musicians would learn about basic songwriting theory and history from one or two coaches, and be given songwriting goals/assignments to work on for the next class. Songwriters share their songs in the next session. This allows a deeper dive for continuing AMP musicians to explore songwriting and would build a strong community of those who identify as songwriters. It would also allow for more original music to be played by AMP Jams Rock Bands.
