If your child is selected into the Dual Language Immersion program and resides outside of the Walnut Valley Unified School District boundary, you must apply for enrollment through one of the following means: 1) District of Choice (DOC) Program: the DOC application window is open from Oct. 2, 2023 to Dec. 31, 2023.  Applications are found on the WVUSD website.  Please check the district website for upcoming DOC webinars to learn more; 2) Inter-District Attendance Permit: you can request a release from your district of residence by completing an Inter-District Attendance permit in Spring 2024.  You can find these permit applications at your home district of residence.  You can cite “Dual Language Immersion Elementary Mandarin program” for one of your reasons for requesting a transfer. However, you must wait until WVUSD notifies you that your child has been offered a seat in the DLI program before submitting the permit; 3) Allen Bill: if a parent is physically employed at an establishment located in the WVUSD boundaries for at least 10 hours per week, then you can request enrollment through this permit.  Please contact WVUSD (Mrs. Gloria Diaz) for an Allen Bill application.   By submitting this application, you understand that your child will be placed at Walnut Elementary School if he/she is selected into the program.  Please type in your name below that you have read this statement.
