Bring your lunch and join San Diego Therapy Center's Virtual QPR Suicide Prevention Training! Enhance your skills to support individuals in crisis and make a meaningful impact in your community.
WHEN: Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 12:00 PM
WHERE: Virtual - Microsoft Teams (link will be sent the evening before the event, to email provided)
- You don't need a Microsoft Teams account to join. You can join from any device as a guest using the link that will be provided. We strongly recommend logging in a few minutes early in case of any issues joining/connecting.
WHAT: This 90 minute session will teach you the Question, Persuade, Refer (QPR) method, a proven approach to recognizing the warning signs of a suicide crisis and intervening effectively. Participants will learn to:
- Question individuals about suicidal thoughts.
- Persuade them to seek help.
- Refer them to appropriate resources.
NOTES:
- The training itself is approximately 60 minutes, and the remaining time will be available for questions.
- Participants that attend the full session receive a certificate for completing the training. Training does not provide CEUs.
- Please note that QPR trainings address topics that can sometimes be difficult and, for some, these topics can trigger emotional distress. Given the heaviness of this subject, we recommend that you plan to engage in intentional self-care following the event.
Registration is limited. Registrations are processed in the order they are received. If capacity is exceeded, any participants beyond our limit will be informed if they are being placed on the waitlist and/or will be invited to attend another training date.
