We’re launching a new study in 2026 to explore how to teach about data-driven computing through the design of activities at Upper Key Stage 2. The research will look at the key ideas children need to understand, how teachers currently approach these topics, and how pupils understand and reason with data. Our goal is to find practical ways to help teachers build children’s confidence when working with data in computing lessons. The study will be collaborative, with two workshops held throughout the year, and we’re inviting Upper KS2 teachers (Year 5 and 6) in England to take part.
