Thank you for offering to help out with our research.
My name is Dr Tim Greer and I am a professor at Kobe University. Currently I am working on a government-approved research project to investigate the way Japanese students learn English during content-based instruction. The name of our project is Simulating the Wild in Experimental Language Learning (or SWELL), for short.
As part of our project, we will be making audio and video recordings of students talking in natural situations during class. We plan to transcribe the conversations and analyze the way learners and teachers communicate with each other. Our focus is firmly on their successes and how they overcome any interactional problems they might experience.
We would like to get your consent to use these recordings in our research. Please check the boxes below to indicate your consent to participate in the project.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me at the email address below. If there is any part of the conversations that you would like us to leave out of the study for whatever reason, please let me know.
