Wisdom2Action (W2A), a consulting firm with a social enterprise commitment that works with non-profit and governmental organizations as well as other businesses to facilitate positive change and strengthen communities. We provide many services specializing in community engagement, creative facilitation, research and evaluation, knowledge mobilization and equity, diversity and inclusion. Our work primarily focuses on gender justice and 2SLGBTQIA+ inclusion, children's rights and youth engagement, and mental health and substance use. Professional Development Session Information:
- Date: We are delivering professional development sessions until May 31. Below, you will have the option to select date ranges that may work for your group.
- Time: This professional development opportunity is being offered in a variety of formats such as full-day (9am or 10am-3:30pm), half-day, (9am-12pm or 1pm-4pm), or a 2-hour session. You are welcome to suggest any length or start/end time that suits your group.
- Location: We're offering this professional development opportunity to teachers, staff, and administrators at schools across Canada. We are prioritizing communities in Saskatchewan, New Brunswick, and rural/remote locations. Our facilitation team will travel to your location. If you are unsure about your group's eligibility based on location, please email safer@wisdom2action.org for more information.
- Cost: This professional development opportunity is generously funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada, and is free of cost for school teachers, staff, and administrators.
- Eligibility: This professional development opportunity is available to all school teachers, staff, and administrators across all Canadian school boards, both public and private. To make this request, your group does not need to be within the same school board to attend a session.
- Content: The content for this professional development session has been developed in collaboration with a Youth Advisory Council comprised of 2LSGBTQIA+ youth (aged 16-24) across Canada, as well as a Partner Advisory Council of 10 partner organizations that work closely with 2SLGGBTQIA+ youth across Canada. The content will highlight the current context of gender-based violence against 2SLGBTQIA+ youth in your communities, and ways to prevent and address this issue through scenario-based activities and Q&A periods.
You can expect a response within 1-2 days of completing this form. Completing this form does not guarantee that your group will be offered a professional development session, as our decision is based on location, group size, and date. We will thoughtfully consider each request we receive, and may reach out to your group to seek any clarification we need in order to come to a decision.
