OTTA Sawyer + First Aid/CPR Certification Scholarship Form: April 20-22 @ Suttle Lodge
The Oregon Timber Trail Alliance was created with four distinct tenets to guide the future of the 670 mile cross-state trail—Stewardship, Education, Community, and Experience. The OTTA is committed to creating a growing community of invested forest users by providing skills classes, wilderness medical training, and courses in trail building and maintenance. Through outreach and education, the OTTA hopes to develop trail stewards for generations to come.

Thank you for your interest in applying for a scholarship to the Oregon Timber Trail Alliance's hosted Sawyer and First Aid/CPR Certification Course at Suttle Lodge, April 20-22.

After you have read through those pages, please fill out the following form by Friday, March 23 to be eligible for a scholarship. We will announce the scholarship winner on Monday, April 2.

We are asking our scholarship winners to commit to attend at least ONE of our major stewardship events this year. Please select which events you can commit to join us for this year: *
1) Please tell us why you're interested in becoming certified in First Aid/CPR and Class A Sawyer. How do you intend to put these skills to service for your community? (Please keep your response to 1-2 paragraphs.) *
2) Please describe any experience or previous certifications you have in either First Aid/CPR or Sawyer skills. *
3) Scholarship winners must be able to provide your own equipment, including: an attitude focused on learning and safety, weather-appropriate clothing for hanging out in a cold, damp forest, a functioning chainsaw, fuel and bar oil, USFS approved saw chaps, boots 8" high, work gloves, 6-point helmet (not a bike helmet), ear protection, eye protection, long pants, and long-sleeved shirt.
