Mountain English Language Skills Programme:

The programme aims to enhance the English language skills, particularly conversational abilities, of guides working on Mount Kilimanjaro. It provides English lessons specifically tailored for ROB awardees and guides identified by IMEC/KRTO as needing the course, equipping them to better support and guide clients during Kilimanjaro climbs.

Program overview:

  • 4 weeks, with two lessons per week of 1 ½ hours per session (total 8 lessons with 12 hours teaching time). 
  • From April – May 2025, and October - November 2025.
  • Max of 8 students per group.
  • Students receive a certificate after successful finishing the course (followed all the classes, passed the final test)
  • Location: Arusha and/or Moshi

Student Requirements:

  • Qualified Guides holding government guiding license and have been guiding on Kilimanjaro for at least 6 months.
  • Students should already be able to speak English (level: basic English).
  • Student commitment and willingness to participate.
