Girls for Gender Equity (GGE) works intergenerationally, through a Black feminist lens, to center the leadership of Black girls and gender-expansive young people of color in reshaping culture and policy through advocacy, youth-centered programming, and narrative shift to achieve gender and racial justice.


✨Program Overview: Sisters in Strength (SIS)✨

SIS is a youth-centered program that uses survivor-centered approaches in the movement to end gender based violence, sexual violence, and child sexual assault. Program participants make steps toward this goal through community organizing, political education, healing justice, and much more. SIS holds space for cis and trans girls and gender non-conforming youth of color who are survivors of child sexual abuse, as well as youth allies between the ages of 15-18 years old. Through a healing circle framework, SIS participants: (1) learn about survivorship, rooting their understanding of survivorship in mass media and history; (2) engage in healing practices and healing justice work; and (3) learn community organizing skills to combat sexual and gender based violence. Young people are provided stipends as well as one-on-one check-ins for communal and individual support.
