Thank you for your interest in the Charlottesville Derby Dames Junior Roller Derby Program! Parents/guardians should fill out this form or assist their Junior skater with doing so to ensure all necessary information in included.
Our fall session will run from September 17-November 12, 2024 from 6:30-9:30pm (last hour focused on advanced skaters) at the Augusta Expo Center. This program is for children of all genders ages 8-17 (18-year-old participants who are still in high school are permitted). Interested in participating? Please fill out the registration form below.
We can provide skates and safety gear for participants who do not have their own. If you will need to borrow these, please take measurements as directed and indicate the appropriate sizes below. It is vital to get accurate measurements and select the correct sizes; we must prepare each participant's equipment package before the session starts.
Waivers and insurance forms will need to be signed before the first practice begins. Whether or not you are borrowing gear, please make sure that your child comes to practice with a fitted mouthguard. Many dentists will make custom ones or you can get a heat-moldable/boil-and-bite mouthguard such as a Sisu or from your local sporting goods store. Invisalign braces/similar do not meet the requirements to be considered a protective mouthguard.
Charlottesville Junior Roller Derby does not provide mouthguards. This session's cost will operate on a sliding scale and will be either $150, $120, or $60. Please use the guidance below to select the appropriate rate reflecting your family's financial reality:The highest dollar cost ($150): If your family is able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worried about securing necessities in your life then this price is for you.
The middle cost ($120): If your family is struggling to conquer debt or build savings or move away from paycheck-to-paycheck living but have access to steady income and are not spending most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs (such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.), you belong here.
The bottom cost ($60): If you struggle to maintain access to needs such as health care, housing, food, child care, or are in significant debt, you belong here and you deserve a community that honors your price as equal an economic offering as the person who can pay the highest tier.
Gear rental is $20 for the whole session. Skaters may take the gear home with them between practices and will return it at the final day on November 12.
