Winter Droving Procession Sign-up 2019
Want to take part in the Winter Droving procession on the 26th October 2019? Sign up here!
Before the event we will e-mail more detailed instructions on when and where to gather (6.00pm at St Catherine's School Fields for Penrith). Torch bearers are asked to come dressed as a drover or wear an animal mask, fire torches will be issued at the meeting point (over 16s only). Young 'uns should wear an animal mask and come as a sheep, goose, cow, pig, deer, chicken or a sheepdog. Spread the word, gather in the herds!
If you're part of a group (local business, family, pub quiz team, musketeers etc.) and want to form a special part of the procession by carrying a lantern let us know. These magical, glowing beasts need keepers of between 2-5 people for the duration of the procession. It's really important we know how big your group is so we can allocate you the correct size animal.
We are asking for a donation of £2 per fire torch this year which will be collected on arrival at the procession meeting point. Your donation will go towards funding future Winter Droving events.
PROCESSION START POINT. This year the procession will be leaving from St Catherine's School playing field on DROVERS LANE. The procession will follow the same route as 2018.

The Winter Droving procession is the highlight of the day.
Torch bearers need to attend a safety briefing on the day at 6.00pm. Attendees who don't attend will not be allowed to carry fire torches.
We politely ask that no banners or large flags etc. should be carried other than those provided by Eden Arts.
The procession is about a community walking together as one.
Eden Arts reserve the right to refuse entry into the procession to any parties deemed unfit, intoxicated or for other reasons which do not align with the nature of the event.
