2019 PDX Pop Now! Compilation Listening Committee Application
Thank you for your interest in joining the listening committee for the 2019 PDX Pop Now! Compilation.

We're excited to get you involved, but we want you to understand what you're getting into. By signing up below, you are expressing interest in helping to curate the 2019 PDX Pop Now! Compilation. We're taking song submissions through December 31, and then we'll do our listening and voting in January.

Here's how it works:
We normally receive over 500 entries from local Portland band of all genres. With the help of our Listening Committee, we narrow it down to a comp of around 40 songs. Don't worry, though — you won't have to judge all of them! Our committee listens to and compares 50-100 songs anonymously. You'll have a little over a week to do this and then you'll fill out an online form giving us your thoughts. All of the listening is done independently, there are no meetings to attend. If this sounds like something you are up for, let's get going! We're looking for people who are as excited as we are to listen to a bunch of new Portland music. If that's you, please fill out the fields below!

The deadline for Listening Committee Applications is Saturday, January 5, 2019.

Conflicts
It is very important that our process be as anonymous and random as possible. For that reason, your tracks will be named in a secret code during voting. In addition, we ask that you provide a complete list of any conflicts of interest you might have.

A conflict could be:
1) Any band you're directly involved with as either a member or manager, whose music you would recognize, and whose inclusion on the compilation you have a vested interest in, or
2) Any band which contains close friends or family members, whose music you are familiar with.

It all comes down to whether or not you would hear a track, recognize it, and have a hard time making an unbiased judgment on its quality. We hope that you are getting involved in this process as serious fans of music, with the ability to hear something interesting or special in a song, regardless of its supposed genre! We recognize that a complete list of conflicts might be difficult in this town, but please do your best. We don't want to make you judge yourself or your friends.
