Thank you for representing BHS in the Northeastern Senior District Festival! This form has all of the information that you need to know for the festival this year.

Your audition fees, bussing, and all other fees related to districts and all state are covered for you. Every person who registers is assumed to be completely clear for the audition day (including the snow date for the audition), and the festival days. The dates of the festival are below. Students are not allowed to drop out of the audition once they are registered. If something happens that you cannot attend the audition (after registration), you will be charged the full fee for the audition and the bus fee for travel.

Your audition will include:
1. Solo piece
2. Scales (memorized as provided)
3. Sight reading (vocal sight reading will be in key of the solo, unless minor, then the relative major will be used.)
4. Snare & Mallet Auditions: Students are required to prepare the auxiliary piece provided on the audition list.

Students may only perform one audition with the following exceptions:
Jazz students may also audition for Band, Orchestra or a Chorus.
Percussionists may audition on more than one instrument.

Students must be an active participant in their school’s music department and part of a school ensemble.

We recommend dressing professionally (all black, or black and white). We ask that you please not wear jeans, sneakers or casual footwear, hoodies, t-shirts, or clothing with distracting logos. Concert dress (all black) is a great choice.

All BHS students will be transported by bus to North Andover HS for the audition day. Our time will be posted two weeks before the audition.

No photocopies of music are allowed. You must purchase your own original solo part (making sure that it is the correct edition, as noted on the audition form).

Each participant should have their equipment in good working order with all necessary accessories. Students should bring music, a pencil and a folding music stand (instrumentalists only) to all rehearsals. 

Cello and Bass players must have rubber tips on endpins. Students assigned to snare drum parts should bring their own snare drum.
