When would be the best time for someone to come pick up the used sharps?
If you find any used sharps on the ground...
    NEVER pick up needles with your hands
    NEVER put loose needles in trash / recycling
    NEVER flush needles down the toilet
    NEVER try to bend or break the needle

If You Must Pick It Up (Safe Handling)
    Put on thick, puncture-resistant gloves
    Use tongs, pliers, or something that's not your hand to pick it up
    Carefully put the syringe in a thick plastic container (like laundry detergent or kitty litter bottle)
    Screw the lid on tightly and seal it. (duct tape is great)
    Write “DO NOT RECYCLE” on container and submit this form to arrange for someone to pick it up. Another option is to put the sealed labeled container in the household trash.

-wash area with soap/water (not alcohol-based sanitizer). 
-Seek urgent/emergency care to access PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis).
