Do you strive to be a model citizen? Do you enjoy helping others?  If so, then you can apply to be a part of the North Ridge Safety Patrol.  This is a service group made up of 5th grade students who assist in keeping our campus running smoothly during arrival and dismissal.

If selected, you will be assigned an outside duty in the morning and/or afternoon.  The morning shift starts at 8:40 and ends at 9:10. The afternoon shift starts at 3:40 and ends at 4:15. Siblings are expected to follow the normal arrival/dismissal times.  

Safety Patrol students must demonstrate responsibility in both academics and conduct. They must also exhibit integrity, honesty, and a willingness to help when needed. The responsibilities of a Safety Patrol member are listed below.

Responsibilities:
1. Be on time to assigned location.
2. Find another safety patrol student to cover your location when absent.  
3. Be courteous, respectful, and helpful at all times to students and staff.
4. Be a positive role model by following PRIDE Expectations.
5. Demonstrate responsibility with your school work.
6. Be a model citizen in our North Ridge Community on and off duty.


Application Process:
If you're interested in applying to be a member of the Safety Patrol, you can begin by answering the questions below by Friday, August 12. Your answers will be reviewed by Ms. Heyward. Once candidates are selected, the next step is for 4th grade teachers to provide a recommendation. Ms. Heyward  will speak with the teachers regarding recommendations for the candidates. Lastly, if you are selected, you will need your parent's permission, as they will have to take on some responsibility to make sure you are at NRE on time for your post.
