Native American Boarding Schools Report Public Comment Form (History Colorado)

HB22-1327 Native American Boarding Schools legislation promotes understanding of the physical and emotional abuse and deaths that occurred at federal Indian Boarding Schools in Colorado, including the victimization of families of youth forced to attend the boarding schools and the intergenerational impacts of the abuse.

Through research and Tribal consultation, History Colorado has compiled a final report and a series of recommendations to the Colorado State Legislature that was delivered to CCIA commissioners on June 30, 2023. The Full Report can be viewed at this link.

We value input from Tribal representatives, community organizations, descendants of those impacted, and community members. Please feel free to submit feedback, questions, comments, and suggestions via this form. History Colorado staff will receive this information, and will follow up as requested.
