A Survey of Current Practice in Software Product Line


Software product line (SPL) is a group of software systems where common ( not identical ) and manageable set of features are shared. In SPL, a set of related products are developed from a set of common core assets for a specific application domain. SPL focuses on the idea of reusing system and software engineering assets in order to empower organizations to develop a diversity of similar system at lower cost & time, with high quality. SPL is also called software product family that satisfy the specific needs of a particular market segment.
