Mary Moriarty Adams Memorial Scholarship
Named in honor of longtime City Councilwoman and devoted public servant Mary Moriarty Adams, the Mary Moriarty Adams Memorial Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors from Indianapolis City Council District 12 who have shown a strong commitment to public and community service. The program was launched in 2016 by Councilman Blake Johnson and his wife Natalie.

The scholarship is awarded to graduating high school seniors (or other persons planning to enroll in postsecondary education for the first time) who live or go to school in District 12 and who have demonstrated a strong commitment to public and community service. Successful applicants will have a record of academic achievement, community engagement and volunteerism. Those hoping to pursue a career in public service or community development should also apply (IE: public safety, education, public health, public policy, entrepreneurship, elected leadership, etc.)

This scholarship is made possible by Indianapolis City Councillor Blake Johnson, local entrepreneur Chris Baggott, IPS Board of Commissioners President Mike O'Connor, Community Hospital East, Citizens Energy Group, and through gifts from local community members. The Historic Irvington Community Council administers the fund.

In addition to this online application, the following items are to be submitted by April 3, 2020 to the Mary Moriarty Adams Memorial Scholarship Fund at info@johnsonforcouncil.com. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
