Both Amsterdam and Heidebeek will gather all their alumni, and current staff and students for an amazing party. There will be a celebration week on both bases from Monday, 15 May to Friday, 19 May. On Thursday, 18 May will be the main celebration party at Heidebeek where both bases and other regional teams with all their staff, students, alumni and guests will come together.
Will you join us for a week of celebrating Gods faithfulness? If you're planning to come, please fill this in before February 1, 2023. We recommend you get a flight and book housing A.S.A.P.!
Here is some practical information:
- Arrival day: Monday, 15 May. We start with dinner at Heidebeek at 5.30 pm.
- Departure day: Friday, 19 May or Saturday 20 May
- Big celebration day: Thursday, 18 May at Heidebeek
Housing:
Since we expect a big group to come we cannot provide housing for everyone on base. We kindly ask people to arrange their own housing/hotel/hostel/bed & breakfast. See the list with recommendations below. You can also ask a Dutch friend living nearby if you could stay with them.
We hope to have some limited beds for singles available in dorms (if you can't afford off-base housing). Contact us at: t.sherman@upcmail.nl to ask about availability.
Food:
Lunch and dinner are provided by YWAM Heidebeek through Thursday. You can arrange your breakfast at the place you're staying. Also there will be coffee breaks and snacks provided. Friday and Saturday there will only be breakfast available if you're staying a dorm room on base and no lunch or dinner.
Price:
The whole week will be 75 euros (without housing, including food). If on base it's 10 euros extra p/p/p/n.
Program:
Of course the program is not finished yet, but here are some things you can expect:
- hearing some good old YWAM stories
- reunion with your former classmates
- YWAM worship with some modern as well as 'back in the days' songs
- getting a tour of Heidebeek including the new building, de Spreng
- some input about life after YWAM
- hearing from each others' life lessons
- a big celebration on 18 May
- a tour over the heather fields
- lots of time for coffee/tea and fellowship
Reunions:
We encourage different DTS's to organize their own reunion earlier in the week. Tuesday or Wednesday are good for this. We leave it up to you to connect with former students and see how many will be coming and plan some fun times together. We have space at the base for that. Let us know what plans you have before March 1.
Departure:
We leave the Friday, 19 May open and are not planning any program. You can decide if you already travel back home on this day or if you want to visit some friends still here yourself. (Note: there won't be any meals provided this day)
More info and details:
More information and details will follow later. Also later we'll ask you for more information (such as arrival details and food allergies) but for now this is all we need to know.
Blessings,
Terry Sherman and Stefan Pruim
