Creative Arts Workshop--Summer 2024 Information and Sign-Up Form
March 26, 2024
Hello Parents/ Guardians!

The purpose of this form is to provide information about the Creative Arts Workshop and give parents/ guardians an opportunity to reserve a spot for their child. Under the direction of SCVi 1st/ 2nd Grade Facilitator Amy Ciceri and Kid Party Productions Director Amy Milano-Boyle, this brand new workshop is designed to offer participants a unique range of artistic, meaningful, and fun learning experiences to expand on their interests and talents relating to music, singing, dance, theatre, writing, clowning, art, and magic!  Throughout the workshop, participants will curate meaningful responses to the Driving Question: What types of problems can we solve when we explore new experiences and create meaningful connections? The final day of the workshop will culminate in a celebration Showcase Performance--when participants get to share with their audience what they helped to co-create as part of a live show--all in a very fun and collaborative way!

Our 5-day Summer Creative Arts Workshop is for ages 7-16, and will happen on Monday, June 24th--Friday, June 28th, 9am-4pm (final day Friday ends at 5:00pm), at the Santa Clarita Valley International (SCVi) K-12 School Theatre space (located at 28060 Hasley Canyon Rd., Castaic, CA 91384).

The total cost of this workshop is $250 per child, and includes a workshop t-shirt, an activity journal, and a celebration Showcase Performance on Friday! (Total of 35 total hours of learning fun, plus the extra hour of live performance on the final day! Breaks down to just $7 per hour!)

Youth participants in our Creative Arts Workshop are expected to follow the rules and expectations described in the SCVi 2023-24 Family Guidebook--Section 4 Learner ConductIf your child is unable to independently demonstrate these behavioral skills throughout the workshop activities, they will not be able to grow and thrive during the different learning experiences, and will therefore, not be allowed to continue attending the workshop. (Due to workshop staff planning and commitment needs, there will be no Registration fee refunds.)

Of course, we understand that many young learners may struggle at times, especially when experiencing new settings and meeting new people and peers. Our Workshop activities center around Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies, designed to help each diverse participant learn and apply increased skills in self-regulation and self-efficacy. Hence, we will guide workshop instruction with an equitable approach--showing mutual compassion, understanding, modeling, and teamwork!
