Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Media Release

By selecting “I AGREE,” I acknowledge and agree to the following terms as a condition of participation in the LoveOly Downtown for Halloween Pet Costume Contest (the “Event”), organized by the Olympia Downtown Alliance (“the Alliance”):

Photography and Media Release
I hereby grant permission to the Alliance, its representatives, and assigns to photograph, film, or otherwise record me and/or my animal during the Event. I consent to the use of such images or recordings for marketing, promotional, publicity, or related purposes in any medium, without restriction or compensation.

Assumption of Risk
I understand that participation in the Event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to injury, illness, or property damage to myself, my animal, or others. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation and my animal’s participation in the Event.

Release and Indemnification
In consideration of being permitted to participate, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, hereby waive, release, and discharge the Alliance, its officers, directors, employees, agents, volunteers, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, or expense that I or my animal may sustain in connection with the Event. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Alliance from any claims or liabilities asserted by third parties as a result of my actions or my animal’s actions during the Event.

Animal Control and Care
I agree to keep my animal under my control at all times, either on a secure leash or, if not a dog or cat, safely contained in a cage or carrier. I agree to immediately clean up and properly dispose of my animal’s waste. I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for the health, behavior, and actions of my animal.

Medical and Veterinary Responsibility
I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for any medical or veterinary expenses incurred as a result of participation in the Event, for myself, my animal, or any injury my animal may cause to another person or animal.

Minors
If I am signing on behalf of a minor, I affirm that I am the parent or legal guardian of the participant, and that I consent to the minor’s participation in the Event under the terms set forth in this Waiver.

By selecting “I AGREE,” I confirm that I have carefully read, fully understand, and voluntarily accept the terms of this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Media Release.
