Makerspace Survey
The James B. Duke Memorial Library is exploring the possibility of a "Makerspace" and would like your feedback! A makerspace (also referred to as a hacklab, hackerspace, or fablab) is a community-operated workspace where people with common creative interests, often in computers, technology, science, art or electronic art, crafts, and sewing, can meet, socialize, and collaborate. We are also considering programs and training classes to go along with a makerspace. These programs would provide opportunities for all students, faculty and staff from every discipline to create, experiment and collaborate in a self-directed hands-on learning environment. We hope to offer cross-disciplinary experiences that support the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), #thisisresearch. We feel the library connects the JCSU community to expertise, information and resources to facilitate programs that foster innovation and life-long learning and we need your input.
