Feedback on Making TOCFL and CCCC Part of PCLS Curriculum

TOCFL and CCCC would be a great opportunity for:

  • Students / parents:  to understand how the students are doing in learning Chinese. Parents can then plan their children's future Chinese lessons or adjust the current learning method and pace.
  • Teachers: to understand how their students are learning the language. Teachers can then examine their teaching methods for future course plans

If it's formally incorporated into the curriculum, it would mean:
  • 1-2 hours will be used during language class to administer the test for all applicable classes (T2 and above) on the same day.  No make-up will be offered as the tests have to be administered on the same day.
  • An extra $30-40 fee will be added to the tuition during the year that the test is administered.  Current proposal is to administer the test once every 2-3 years (TBD) in order to assess progress over-time.
