This form will serve as your absence note for the school. If there was a Doctor's appointment, please send in the doctor's note. *Please note children must be Fever, Vomit, Diarrhea free for 24 hours before returning to school.

For an Early Dismissal I understand my chid must be picked up prior to 2PM.

Please note: Holy Cross School strongly urges parents to make every effort to have their child attend school every day.

*Virtual Instruction is considered present for the day, however, failure to participate in the live stream instruction will result in the absence being identified as an unexcused absence and will be subject to school laws of Pennsylvania.

In order to be excused for three (3) consecutive days of absence or more due to illness, medical condition or quarantine, a physician's statement certifying that absences are medically justified is required.

Time out of school due to tardiness and absences for a portion of the school day will be considered on a cumulative basis and may translate into equivalent days.

The following are considered lawful absences: illness of pupil, death in the family, doctor appointment/medical quarantine, student educational workshop/seminar/visit with the approval of administration.

*Family vacations Vacation days are counted as unexcused absences and are subject to the count and procedures for ten (10) cumulative days.

All schools (public/nonpublic) are responsible for enforcing compulsory attendance laws. There is a cumulative ten (10) day absence limit in order to ensure the school provides: a) a minimum of 180 days of instruction or 900 hours of instruction per year at the elementary level b) and/or 990 hours per year of instruction at the secondary level.
