Sustainability Advocate Leader Application Fall 2017
The mission of the UVA Sustainability Advocates Program is to link the Office for Sustainability to the student body and to use our ideas and projects to instill knowledge, empower students, and create sustainable lifestyle changes. The SA Program allows participants to develop an understanding of energy & water conservation, recycling and other green habits. They promote these issues in their residence area, throughout the University, and are a source of information for their peers, and help to foster a sense of community and stewardship for the planet.

As an Advocate Leader you will serve as a resource for the SAs in your small group. You will maintain consistent communication with your SAs, as you will help foster an environment where SAs can learn more about sustainability at UVA and develop the skills necessary to become an effective leader. This is done through planning additional opportunities to meet and bond with your SAs outside the bi-weekly meetings, be it through social gatherings or volunteer events.  Additionally, you will serve as an intermediary between the Student Outreach Employees and the SAs, making sure that your small group members fully understand what is asked of them and to encourage active participation in the SA program.

Interviews may be conducted on a person-to-person basis.

All applications should be completed by Thursday, August 31st at 11:59 pm.
