Lesson Policies
PAYMENTS

Lessons are $120/month per student, which equals out to be a little less than $30/ half-hour lesson over the course of a year.
Payments can be made at the beginning of each month via Venmo, Paypal or Check. All lesson fees are due in advance of your first lesson of each month. If $120/month is not feasible for your budget, please indicate so at the bottom of the page and we will send you a scholarship application.

LESSON CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellation of a lesson must be made at least six hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson (for definition of a make-up lesson, please see below.)
No-shows or failure to notify us in writing via submarineschoolofmusic@gmail.com within six hours is considered a forfeited lesson.
If you know of dates ahead of time when you/your child cannot make a lesson, please notify the school and you will have the option to sign up for a make-up lesson.
Our teachers are not responsible for fielding scheduling questions. All communication regarding anything scheduling related should be done directly through submarineschoolofmusic@gmail.com.

MAKE-UP LESSONS

Any lessons cancelled at least six hours ahead of the scheduled lesson will be eligible for a make-up lesson at a time convenient to the student with one of our teachers. Your make-up lesson may be with a substitute.
Make-up lessons not used after one month will be considered forfeited. Cancel through the submarineschoolofmusic@gmail.com email in order to be offered a make-up time.

HOLIDAYS / SCHOOL BREAKS

A calendar of school breaks can be found on our website. With the school breaks and holidays, the $120 monthly fee equals out to be $29.38/lesson. Please let the school know in advance if there are any extra holidays or school breaks that you will be absent for and you will be given the option of scheduling makeup time.

WHEN YOUR TEACHER CANCELS

In most cases, when your teacher cannot be here, we will find a suitable substitute teacher and the lesson will continue as regularly scheduled.

COMMUNICATION

It's important to keep communication, especially about payments or scheduling directly through our submarineschoolofmusic@gmail.com email. Our teachers are only responsible for doing a great job teaching.

SCHOLARSHIPS AND TUITION ASSISTANCE

The Submarine School of Music provides tuition assistance on a sliding scale for qualifying students, based on household income, family size, and special financial considerations. The funding will come from community fundraising until we achieve non-profit status.  If you are already paying less than $30 per half-hour lesson/$120 a month or would like to be considered for a future scholarship, please indicate so below and you will receive a scholarship application.

SETON STUDENTS

Lessons at Seton are $100/month per student. Because of the reduced rate, we do not offer make up lessons for absences or school closures. The occasional school holiday and individual absence is built into the price and still equals out to be about $30/lesson.
