William Rice Award of Excellence - Pupil Transportation Supervisor of the Year
DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS IS MARCH 1, 2019

The William Rice Award of Excellence for the Pupil Transportation Supervisor of the Year is given in memory of Past OAPT President William Rice to the Pupil Transportation Supervisor of the Year as judged by the OAPT Officers. It is the intent of this award to recognize supervisors who exhibit outstanding leadership and professional conduct in the school transportation field, both in the district they represent as well as the State of Ohio. The award also recognizes supervisor who have contributed to the advancement of pupil transportation supervision as a profession.

Criteria - To be eligible, the following criteria must be met:

* Nominee must be a current member of the Ohio Association for Pupil Transportation.
* Nominee must have two (2) or more years experience in a pupil transportation supervisory position.
* Nominee must show involvement in outside or professional activities. Examples include Road-E-O, OAPT Committees, ODE committees, and other areas outside of the workplace.
* Nominee must show evidence of interest in professional development by attending seminars, regional meetings, state meetings, etc.

Nominators - The following individuals may make nominations:

* Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or Business Manager.
* Immediate Supervisor (if not the one above).
* An ODE Pre-Service Instructor.
* A fellow transportation supervisor.
* School Bus Driver
* Co-Workers (current or former).
* ODE Staff
