On Saturday, February 27th, at 4:00 PM PT (12:00 AM GMT), Shiyu Xia will introduce himself, current problems in the robotics industry and potential solutions, different robotics companies in Japan, industrial robotics applications in Japan, and share his personal working experience. This short presentation will be followed by an open Q&A session.

Shiyu Xia is currently working as a hardware engineer at Mujin Inc. in Tokyo, a company that innovates in the field of industrial robot applications. His main focus is on designing printed circuit boards, which are integrated into interface devices and industrial computers. Before moving to Tokyo, he spent several years in Seattle. He left his high school in Beijing and joined a running start program in Seattle Central College. After that, he proceeded to the University of Washington and earned a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. During his college years, he co-founded Robomaster robotics club, also participated in the Robomaster competition where he gained a passion for robotics and automation. In his last two years in Seattle, he worked at a startup that develops kitchen automation solutions.
