1. Only genuine, low-to-the-ground Dachshunds (Real Wiener Dogs) will be allowed to race. And we reserve the right to determine which dogs are wieners, and which dogs are not.
2. All racers must submit a registration form for each participant. All owners are required to sign a waiver releasing event sponsors and volunteers from liability. THERE IS A $10 ENTRY FEE FOR ALL DOGS. PROCEEDS WILL GO TO A LOCAL RESCUE OF OUR CHOICE.
3. The number of qualifying heats & bracket system will be determined closer to the event
when we know the number of entries.
4. All dogs must have two people to race. One handler at the start and one catcher at the finish.
5. You can use treats, toys, or stuffed animals to entice your dog towards the line. No lights, laser pointers, or items thrown down the track will be allowed.
6. All dogs must start the dash with all paws on the ground. No throwing or tossing the dog over the line, or you will be disqualified. The dog who's first body part hits the checkered line AND completely crosses the finish line will be the winner. Sometimes a wiener will get a paw or two across the finish line & then turn around. All judges decisions are final.
Tip for all catchers...The closer you are to the finish line, the more likely your dog is to slow down before the finish line. Please stay back from the line.
7. Once all paperwork and registration, including copies of current vaccination records, as may be required by the city, county, or state, has been submitted your dog will be submitted into the draw
8. No humans on the dog track area.
9.All dogs must be on a leash at- all- times while not in the race area. Once finished with the races they must be put back on their leashes.
10. Please remember this is for fun and a good cause. Although prizes are up for grabs no inappropriate behavior will be accepted.
11.Check in time will be 6pm-7pm. We will get the brackets set & the races started by 7:30pm. We will do our best to keep to these times and keep everyone updated leading up to the races.
12. All racers are responsible for paying attention during race times. We appreciate your attention as it helps move the races along.
