Advent Busy Person Retreat Registration

The Advent Busy Person's Retreat is designed for young adults who wish to intentionally enter in the Advent season, but may not have time to participate in a traditional retreat or parish prayer service. The retreat is meant for young adults but anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to participate.

The Busy Persons Retreat will take place during the four weeks of Advent and requires the participant to commit to one hour of prayer each of the four weeks of Advent. Prayer can take place anywhere, but it is recommended that the entire hour of prayer be done in one sitting. Participants will also commit to a one hour a week conversation with a companion over zoom (or in person if you wish). These conversations are meant to facilitate reflection and prayer during Advent. The times of prayer and conversation are to be decided based the participant's schedule.

There is no cost, but registration is required before Friday, November 26th.

The retreat will begin with a 30 minute introduction and prayer over zoom on Sunday, November 28th at 7pm EST. Retreat will conclude with a 30 minute reflection and prayer over zoom on Thursday, December 23rd at 7pm.

Sr. Cathy Bauer, OSB | A Benedictine Sister from St. Walburg's Monastery in Northern Kentucy, Sr. Cathy is the vocation director for her community and a spiritual director.

Sr. Kathleen Branham, OSF | A Sister of St. Francis of Oldenburg, Sr. Kathleen has served as a social worker within the foster care system. She now serves as the Vocation Director and enjoys working with campus ministry, especially at Marian University.

Fr. Steve Dos Santos, CPPS | Previously a restaurant managers, Fr. Steve is now a priest of 15 years and serves as the Director of Vocations for the Missionaries of the Precious Blood. He is also available to converse in Spanish.

Mary-Cabrini Durkin | Retired teacher, author, editor; consecrated lay women; lives in Cincinnati

Brother David Henley, GHM | Originally from Columbus Ohio, Br. David has been in Glenmary for 20 years. He served in missions in Kentucky and Arkansas and for the last 10 years as the vocation director. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

Sr. Leslie Keener, CDP | As a Sister of Divine Providence, Sr. Leslie has served as a college campus minister at the University of Cincinnati and currently works with God Space and serves as a spiritual director.

Jenna Legg | Jenna is the vocation coordinator for the Sisters of the Precious Blood. She's been married for six years; her husband also works for the Catholic Church. Jenna and her husband are foster and adoptive parents.

Sr. Ruth Lubbers, SND | Sister of Notre Dame who serves on the SND Vocation / Young Adult Ministry team and as a spiritual director. She has a background in education and administration.

Sr. Jean Rhoads, DC | Daughter of Charity with background in education, nursing and administration; lives in Philadelphia

Sr. Val Roxburgh, SND | A Sister of Notre Dame who currently is on the Young Adult Ministry and Vocation team, Sr. Val was in California for a number of year but now lives in Toledo.

Br. Matt Schaefer, CPPS | Br. Matt is a Missionary of the Precious Blood who has been in parish ministry for 12 years, serving as the Director of Religious Education and Business Manager. He is also a spiritual director.

Sr. Stephanie Thompson, SNDdeN | Sr. Stephanie has been a teacher, campus minister, chaplain, pastoral associate and now vocation director. She's excited about the possibility of journeying with you during this Advent season.

Sr. Bea Tiboldi, OP | Sr. Bea is a Dominican Sister of Peace who has served as a teacher, catechist, pastoral associate and vocation minister. She's also an experienced companion on Busy Person's Retreats
