Arrowhead Elementary Optional Parental Input Form for 2020/2021 Class Assignments

This form is for parents who would like to provide input regarding classroom placement for the next school year.

The goal of a careful and thoughtful placement process is to provide all students with an equal opportunity for a positive and strong educational experience. In determining placement we consider what we know about individual students, student groups that work well together, parent input, and issues of classroom balance. Our paramount duty during the placement process is to create well-balanced classrooms that work for all students.

Your input is an important aspect of the placement process. If you would like us to consider input you are able to provide, please submit this form by Monday, May 4, 2020.

Please keep in mind that this form is not for requesting a particular teacher or requesting your child be placed with friends.

Placements are made by teams of teachers with final approval by the principal.
All students are given the same placement consideration when being placed in a class, whether or not parent input is given.  In filling out this form, please note:

This information is not confidential and will be shared with staff in the placement meetings and with next year’s teacher, as a further means of introduction to your child, and any special needs he/she may have.
Please understand that since we are a small school we will not be able to create classrooms that honor all requests, especially requests to separate children and/or requests regarding combination classrooms.

Placement is an important decision for you and your child.  We are committed to working carefully and caringly toward productive matches and balanced classroom placements.
