National Research Facility in PES Statement of Need Questionnaire
The UKRI funds the National Research Facility (NRF) in Photoemission Spectroscopy (PES). The current service is provided by HarwellXPS.
Photoemission Spectroscopy (also known as photoelectron spectroscopy) is a group of analysis techniques, the most widely used of which is X-ray photoemission spectroscopy (XPS, which is also known as ESCA).
UKRI intends to fund the NRF service for a further five year period from 2022 onwards. To identify the requirements for the new funding period, a Statement of Need will be produced by the current service providers, HarwellXPS. The Statement of Need will be used by UKRI to write the funding call for the new NRF.
This questionnaire is to collect the views of potential users of the next NRF and help shape the Statement of Need.
The questionnaire aims to get views from as broad a cross section as possible including people who may use PES in the future as well as current users of the technique.
