Cherokee History and Culture
Join TPS- Mars Hill University and the Ramsey Center for Regional studies for a week-long study of the complex history of the Eastern Band of Cherokee. We will also travel to the Ocunoluftee village, Museum of the Cherokee Indian, and meet with tribal leaders to better understand the culture. This Summer Institute is free for all educators. Educators may choose to stay on campus in our guest home for $35 per night. Workshops will run daily July 20-24, 8:30 - 4:00. Our week will intense content study, exploration of various inquiry strategies, and time for individual or team unit planning. Snacks and lunch will be provided free of charge. Registration will remain open until May 31st.
