Feedback on preprints is maximized when it applies to a manuscript that researchers are still working on and which has not yet been submitted for journal publication. To support this type of public feedback, ASAPbio and PREreview are partnering to host a live-streamed preprint journal club for early preprints not yet submitted to a journal.
During the journal club, we will discuss the preprint with a focus on highlighting the positive aspects of the work and on offering constructive suggestions for next steps for the study. We will post a public summary of the discussion on the PREreview platform.
To propose your early preprint for inclusion in the journal club, please complete this brief form. By early preprints, we refer to preprints that meet these criteria:
- Preprint posted on a preprint server or open repository (e.g., Zenodo)
- The manuscript has not been submitted to a journal, i.e., the authors are still working on the manuscript and will be able to consider and/or incorporate the feedback prior to journal publication
- Preliminary studies are welcome and there is no minimum length required, but the manuscript must contain a full description of the work i.e. abstract, rationale, methodological information
- Reports primary research in the life sciences
- Preprints in English, Spanish or French
The ASAPbio and PREreview teams will review preprint proposals received via this form and make a selection for the preprints to include in a live-streamed preprint journal. Please note that depending on the number of preprints received we cannot guarantee that your preprint will be selected.
By completing this form, you consent to ASAPbio and PREreview handling this information in accordance with the ASAPbio
privacy policy.
