Muddy Boots and Ivory Towers
This is a short survey to canvass the NADS community regarding the utility of academic research on waterfowl and wetlands, and to explore the perception that this capacity has been eroded. We are posing this as a hypothesis. We then present a series of speculations about possible factors that could impact research capacity. There is a paucity of hard data regarding these factors and so we wanted to both acknowledge this uncertainty, and conduct a preliminary survey of perspectives from the NADS audience. Thanks for your help.
