The Power of a Story: Teaching STEM Courses with Case Studies**
Thursday June 8 from 2:30 – 3:30 PM
Location: AIRB 1030
Facilitator: Justin Shaffer, Assistant Teaching Professor, Developmental and Cell Biology

Case studies are a useful way to engage students in the learning process by providing a real-world narrative that unfolds over the course of a lesson. In this workshop, participants will learn why case studies are beneficial to use in college science courses, identify currently published case studies in online collections, and develop a case study to transform a lesson from a college STEM course.

**This program contributes to the Active Learning requirement for the Certificate in Teaching Excellence.
