Attention faculty, residents, and staff in Ortho Surgery!
We are in search of potential mentors for summer undergraduate mentorship: We are launching a new program, the Michigan Summer Orthopaedic Access to Research (M-SOAR) program, which will provide support for a few upper-level undergraduate students interested in research in Orthopaedic Surgery over the summer (for the duration of 10 weeks). Awardees will engage in clinical and/or basic science research with faculty in Orthopaedic Surgery and will have opportunities to collaborate with medical students, residents, and research staff.
We are looking for faculty and resident volunteers to help in any of the following ways:
- Serve as a clinical mentor (2, 5, or 10wk duration);
- serve as a research mentor (2, 5, or 10wk duration);
- offer shadowing opportunities (1-2 days);
- present a short (20-30min) research or clinical talk with discussion;
- serve on a resident or faculty panel (1-2hr);
- lead a journal club (1-2hr);
- or help in some other way!
If you are interested in serving as a mentor in any of these ways, please complete this form. We will use this information for planning the scholars' summer experience and for identifying potential research projects that will foster engagement, belonging, and inclusion for our scholars!
Please sign up by March 5th!
