It is critical for students to attend school to succeed academically. All student absences need to be communicated to the front office. BHS is flexible, supportive, and accommodating and will make every effort to help students succeed; however, a pattern of absences may result in a student being referred to another school or program.

Students will take a survey essential to classes they will be enrolled in throughout the year. They concern academics and success in high school and beyond. The survey will be in Success Highways. All ABLE and some Summit students will take Success Highways. This is an integral part of instruction at Burchell.

Burchell High School is a trauma engaged school that uses restorative practices to build community and repair harm. Students are expected to participate in restorative conversations and take part in the mediated restorative process when there is conflict with peers or staff.

The core values of Burchell High are Respect, Relationships, and Resilience. Students are expected to exemplify these values in their attitudes and behaviors.

Burchell High School's Rules and Expectations are non-negotiable. If you do not agree with all of them, ABLE Academy is not a good fit for your student. *
