The parent understands and agrees to

the following school rules:

Students must dress appropriately (nothing with inappropriate or drug/alcohol references; no tank tops; no showing your belly or undergarments, no pajama pants)

Students are not allowed to wear hoodies over their heads or bandanas, though they can wear hats

Students are not allowed to wear earbuds during the work session (before, after school and during lunch is fine)

This is a closed campus. Students are NOT allowed to leave to campus for lunch.

All medication that needs to be taken during the day must be turned into the nurse

Bullying or harrassment of other students, whether in person or not, is prohibited

Vapes, tobacco, alcohol, durgs, and paraphernalia are not allowed on school grounds at any time

The internet is not to be used for personal reasons or to look up answers for assessments

Fighting and physical altercations will not be tolerated and will result in students being referred to another school or program.

Students will take placement tests using the MAP Test survey version. This is for BHS use only.

It is critical for students to attend school to succeed academically. All student absences need to be communicated to the front office. BHS is flexible, supportive, and accommodating and will make every effort to help students succeed; however, a pattern of absences may result in a student being referred to another school or program.

Students will take a survey essential to classes they will be enrolled in throughout the year. They concern academics and success in high school and beyond. The survey will be in Success Highways. All ABLE and some Summit students will take Success Highways. This is an integral part of instruction at Burchell.

Burchell High School is a trauma engaged school that uses restorative practices to build community and repair harm. Students are expected to participate in restorative conversations and take part in the mediated restorative process when there is conflict with peers or staff.
