UPDATE: We received a response from the Governor's office. It's the same form letter rejection we got to our initial meeting request. It's time to turn up the pressure on Shapiro, so we're picking the date and inviting him. The town hall will be on May 13th from 7 - 9 p.m. We're delivering a 4' engraved invitation to his office a week earlier on May 5th. See images of the cover and inside left below. Individual signers will be added to the inside right and rear.
If you signed the letter, please use the fields below to let us know if you do not want to add your name to the invitation. If you're a new individual or organizational signer, please use the form below to add your signature!
By the way, if you already know you want to speak at the town hall, please sign up here (sorry for another form!) https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfDGAMwCEG2EWdZqfAGIzA6MzywE2rQ-eBqdWJY-GdklgwBug/viewform

ORIGINAL INTRODUCTION:
Organizations and individuals are invited to sign the letter to Governor Shapiro regarding a statewide virtual town hall the Better Path Coalition and No False Climate Solutions PA are organizing. We believe that the people of Pennsylvania deserve a chance to make statements to and ask questions of Governor Shapiro. We will also invite our state legislators to attend. We will ask people to register in advance to speak so we can take them in the order they signed up.
Our request for available dates was rejected. We were told that the schedulers don’t provide such lists. On Tuesday, February 17, we submitted a new request, this time listing every date in March and asking them to pick one. We are circulating this letter that we hope will pressure Governor Shapiro to agree to participate.
We didn’t set a deadline to sign, but we’re nearing the end of February, so we’d like to submit it within the next week or so. We intend to keep pressuring Governor Shapiro. We’re starting with the invitation for a March town hall. If he refuses to participate, we will decide whether to keep pressuring him for dates or schedule a town hall for a date of our choosing and invite him to attend. If he still doesn’t attend, we will display his head on the Zoom screen so people can direct their comments and questions at him. We will send a transcript and a recording of the session to him with a request for responses to any questions asked.
