Each year, the National Association of Asian American Professionals (www.naaap.org) organizes the Leadership Convention, ERG Summit, and Diversity Career Fair, (www.leadershipconvention.org) to advance leadership development, diversity, inclusion and engagement in the workplace. The Planning Team seeks speakers to share their insights about leadership, professional development, and issues affecting Asian American and Asian Canadian professionals and communities. The 2019 Leadership Convention and Career Fair will take place Aug 22-24 at the Westin Crown Center in Kansas City, Missouri.
The theme for the 2019 Leadership Convention is The Unconventional Leader. Lead Boldly. The focus of Aug. 22 is specifically Employee Resource Groups/Business Resource Groups. For Aug. 23 and 24, the focus will be on Unconventional Leaders, unique leadership models and styles in all sectors -- entrepreneurial, corporate, government and non-profit sectors. Do you know of a graphic designer, creative director, storyteller, chef, non-profit leader, product manager, scientist, or other professional who has an inspiring story of personal vision, fortitude, or creativity? The Convention Planning Team's goals include making the Convention meaningful to persons at different stages of their lives and careers.
Our AUDIENCE is segmented into the following groups:1) Young Asian professionals looking to innovators and tried and true methods for inspiration; 2) Mid-career professionals who are employed yet seeking greater challenge, responsibility and reward, even in the face of work-life balance challenges; and3) Sponsors and their employees who value the engagement with NAAAP members and Convention participants.
AGENDA: The 2019 Convention Planning Team will select high visibility keynote speakers for plenary sessions with meals. We also plan a total of 24 sessions with up to three sessions running concurrently (8 time slots with 3 concurrent sessions) on Aug. 22, 23, and 24. Each session will last 60 minutes and should include an introduction, presentation, optional interactive exercises, and Q&A. Please note: Preference will be given to workshops that offer interactive exercises.
INSTRUCTIONS: Please nominate yourself, another individual, or a group of individuals to provide different perspectives on a topic. Please describe your workshop, intent, activities, and intended audience. David Moore, Convention Programs Director, [firstname.lastname@example.org] will review all submissions and contact you if there are any questions about your workshop or availability. On average, NAAAP has been able to select 25% of the speakers who submit a proposal.
PLEASE NOTE: If you abandon a form before the final submission, you will need to begin a new form.
