2025 Election - "In-Kind" Donation Tracking (Individuals)
If you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident who contributes more than $200 of goods (e.g., printing posters at home or at Staples) or are self-employed and normally charge for the service you're contributing, please use this form to track contributions to the Don't Get Played campaign.

If you're an organization that wants to make an in-kind contribution or if you have any questions, please contact 350 Canada's Financial Agent, Amara Possian, at amara.possian@350.org.

WHY ARE WE KEEPING TRACK OF DONATIONS?

350 Canada has registered as a third-party in the federal election, so we have to follow rules set out in the Elections Act. This includes keeping track of all "in kind" donations.

For donations totalling over $200, the contributor’s name, partial address and contribution amounts will be disclosed in a financial return published on the Elections Canada website.

WHAT IS AN "IN KIND DONATION"?

An "in kind donation" is a donation of a thing or a service that people would normally pay for. For example, someone donating printing (when they'd normally charge for printing) or someone donating space at a venue (when they'd normally charge for that space).

Volunteer labour is also considered an in kind donation IF a service provided by a *self-employed* person who normally charges for that service.

WHAT IS *NOT* AN "IN KIND DONATION"?

If someone gives you something or does something they would NOT normally charge for (like donating time for canvassing or cooking you a meal), you do NOT need to track it. If a volunteer designs a poster, you only have to track and report the value of their time if they are a *freelance* graphic designer who would normally charge for their time.
