MMT's Resident Company
🎭 Music Mountain Theatre Resident Company

January–December 2026

Overview

The Resident Company is an annual group of dedicated adult performers selected, by the Producing and Artistic Directors, for their talent, professionalism, and commitment to the mission, values, and goals of Music Mountain Theatre. Company membership is renewed each year based on the needs of the season. Being part of the Resident Company one year does not guarantee placement the following year.

Requirements
  • Audition: Audition once in November for the full upcoming season. Casting assignments will be announced in November when possible for as much of the season as possible.

  • Performances: Participate as a performer in at least 2 Mainstage productions during the season. At least one production will be in the ensemble.

  • Behind the Scenes: Contribute to at least 1 production in a non-performing role (examples: running crew, spot operator, assistant director, wardrobe, production team, etc).

  • Community Engagement: Take part in at least 1 community event (examples: parades, Shad Fest, holiday caroling).

  • Ambassadorship: Serve as a positive representative of MMT—engaging with patrons, fostering connections, and supporting our theatre’s presence in the community. They are encouraged to attend opening night performances and receptions, when possible.

  • Support Roles:

    • Always encouraged to volunteer as an usher or assist with Children’s Theatre.

    • Complimentary tickets to Children’s Theatre available with 24-hour notice.

  • Eligibility: Board members and full-time employees are not eligible for Company membership, to ensure fairness and distinction of roles.

  • Leadership: Each year, one member will be appointed Company Manager, serving as liaison between Company members and theatre leadership. This position will rotate annually.

Benefits
  • Streamlined Audition Process: Only one audition required per year.

  • Season Casting: Casting is offered at the start of the year when possible, allowing members to plan ahead.

  • Training: Access to free Theatre School classes.

  • Flex Pass: Each Company member receives a 10-show Flex Pass to use as they wish throughout the season.

  • Community: Recognition as a core representative of Music Mountain Theatre, with unique opportunities to contribute both on and off stage.

  • Personalized Merchandise: One of a kind apparel for that season’s company.

Selection Process

The Resident Company will be chosen each year in alignment with the artistic and practical needs of the season’s productions. Selection is based on demonstrated commitment, talent, and availability.
