Decatur Bar & Pop-Up Factory’s kitchen is designed to be utilized on a regular basis by emerging and established chefs who are interested in hosting pop-up events in the space to showcase their talents and passions. Please read below for important information about hosting a pop-up event prior to completing the attached form.
SCHEDULING• Decatur is open for Pop-Up Chef Dinners occurring on Sunday evenings. Other days of the week are open to discussion pending scope of event and availability• Kitchen prep on day-of occurs starting at 4pm (however you are welcome to come Friday or Saturday mornings to prep for a Sunday service).• Dinners generally run from 7-10pm. Decatur closes at 11pm during the week and at 2am on Friday and Saturday.
KITCHEN & DINING ROOM• Decatur’s semi-private dining space seats a maximum of 30 guests. • You are required to bring in all products you are cooking with. If you need assistance in sourcing local products (produce, meat, dairy, etc.) we are happy to coordinate with our suppliers.• You may utilize our cooking equipment in the kitchen for your dinner – we have the following available: - Convection oven - Grill - 6-burner range - Flat top Plancha - Fryer - Kitchen aid - Joule – Sous Vide
• You may utilize our dishware, glassware and cutlery for your dinner – we have the following: - 60 dinner plates - 35 4-inch plates - 35 pasta bowls - 7 deep bowls - 7 large family-style plates - 12 long 10-inch platters - 26 6-inch dessert bowls - 60 3-oz ramekins• Beer, Wine & Cocktails WILL NOT be included within the ticket price for your dinner. All beverage sales will need to be handled by a Decatur server and run through our POS to comply with TABC. - You may work with our beverage manager to determine wine, beer or cocktail pairings to go with your dinner.
COSTYour costs: - $300 rental rate for the space - $125 per food+cocktail server (you are welcome to bring your own food servers, however, they will not be allowed to serve alcohol from our bar. In which case you will be required to have one of our cocktails servers at $75 per server for the night. We recommend one cocktail server per 15 people). - $10/hour for dishwasher - If you need additional kitchen staff to assist with your event, we can arrange that for an additional fee. - We require a deposit of $150 to reserve the date. - Any damaged dishes or equipment will be paid out of the deposit and if the deposit does not cover the damage, you are liable for the replacement.
TICKETING - We can assist with setting up tickets to be purchased online – we utilize Eventbrite as our ticketing platform. You will need to set up your own ticketing site to sell tickets. - If you’d like assistance with determining the appropriate ticket price for your event, we’re happy to help – just ask!
MARKETING & PROMOTIONS - Decatur will include your event within our Facebook event listings (we can set that up for you, or you can set it up and invite us to be a host). - Decatur will include your event within outgoing bi-monthly media announcements for calendar listings and upcoming food-related event features. - VERY IMPORTANT: These pop-up events are successful when all parties are engaging in marketing and promotions. Please make sure that you are marketing to your own personal networks for ticket purchases and assistance with distribution of information.
