This year, Vancouver Datajam is happy to announce that we have 3 different workshops that you may register!

Beginner: may have no prior coding experience/comes from a non-technical background

Intermediate: is familiar with coding in languages such as R or Python, as well as familiarity with packages such as numpy and Pandas, and

Everyone: this workshop is open to everyone who is into learning new things.

In order to help the workshop facilitators understand the skill levels of of their workshop attendees, we ask that you answer the following questions to the best of your ability.

Workshop Title: Data wrangling in Python with pandas and NumPy

Facilitator Name: Riya Eliza

Facilitator Bio: Riya is a data scientist at Pacific Salmon Foundation, educator and community builder. She holds a master’s degree in data science from UBC and a bachelor's in computer science and engineering which aided her in creating curriculums to help newcomers in data science, navigate this field. As a mentor, Riya is committed to making data science accessible and fostering a welcoming community.

Workshop Description: This workshop will cover NumPy and pandas and how you can leverage them with your day to day task. At your job, you will be dealing with dirty data, and everything comes with it's pros and cons.
