In an effort to promote a positive and safe climate on our school vans, students and families must follow certain guidelines. Students are expected to abide by all school policies and rules regarding behavior and are expected to be courteous and respectful to each other, the school van driver, and van monitor at all times.
Students are expected to be at their assigned pick up location five (5) minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time. Parents/Guardians are expected to be at the drop off location five (5) minutes prior to the scheduled drop off time. Students will have the option to arrive and dismiss independently.
As a student at Launch, I agree to the following items and conditions for behavior while riding the school van:
I agree to ride the van safely by:
- Staying in my assigned seat until I arrive at my final destination.
Wearing my seatbelt at all times.
Keeping my hands and feet to myself and face forward.
Not distracting the driver when the van is in motion.
I agree to uphold the expectations of our community by:
- Following the directions of both the van driver and van monitor at all times.
Being polite and courteous to the van driver and van monitor.
Respecting all passengers.
Speaking in a quiet voice.
Keeping my belongings contained in my area and keeping the van free from any litter.
Not eating, drinking, or chewing gum while on the van.
Keeping any devices and accessories (e.g. cell phones, tablets, earbuds, etc) out of view at all times, and not using them while riding the van.
As a parent or guardian of a student participating in the transportation program, I agree to the following terms and conditions while riding the van:I understand that I am responsible for my student’s dismissal plans, which are subject to change depending on after school activities.
I agree to communicate directly, in a timely manner, with Launch regarding all aspects of the transportation program.
I understand that my pick up and drop off locations are assigned to my student and personal arrangements cannot be made between van drivers/monitors and families.
I understand that all communications, questions or curiosities related to the van need to be directed to the Director of Operations at Launch, Shakur Joseph (sjoseph@launchschool.org), not van personnel.
I understand that my student may only ride the bus to which he/she/they is assigned and may not invite/bring friends to ride on the bus.
Failure to honor any part of this Transportation Program Agreement could result in a response that may include temporary or permanent suspension from riding the van. The school administration reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to remove a student from the van as a result of the failure of a student or parents/guardians to abide by the terms of the Transportation Program Agreement.
