Part 2 IN-PERSON - Wednesday November 15 @ 6:00 pm-8:00 pm

The Undergraduate Health Research Exploration Program (UHRE) is a Faculty of Health Agents of Change project and a division of the Kinesiology and Health Science Student Organization (KAHSSO) that aims to engage students in all aspects of undergraduate health research. Our program offers mentorship, workshops, and an annual undergraduate health research conference. Our 2-part annual summit serves as an opportunity for student attendees to get more familiar with the world of research and to network with our graduate students, Faculty members and alumni in a panel discussion. Attendance also allows participants to apply to our UHRE Mentoring to be matched with a mentor that can provide long-term guidance and advice through their research applications journey, as well as get a first-look at future opportunities, initiatives, and news from the field.

What is the Research Summit

The UHRE Research Summit is held to provide an opportunity for undergraduate students across Faculty of Health to gain the fundamental knowledge and skills required for their successful research position acquisition.

Through a series of interactive modules over the span of 2 days, we hope to educate our summit attendees on the benefits of getting involved with research towards their personal and professional development and equip them with important and helpful skillsets and resources that will allow them to feel more confident and empowered to seek out for undergraduate research positions including tips on how to professionally reach out to professors, helpful resources for finding research opportunities, and many more. Furthermore, our summit will also provide a networking opportunity with graduate students, alumni and faculty members currently involved in various health based research projects through a panel discussion at the end of the 2nd day of the summit.

Finally, our summit attendees will also have a chance to learn about how they can take the first step towards their professional development by getting involved with KAHSSO as UHRE Research Mentors and officers.
