CHS SCHEDULE CHANGE REQUEST

Student's are allowed to request a schedule change through day 3 of each term. However, students may be limited to only one request for elective changes. Repeat requests may be ignored, so think about your one request before submitting it. Keep in mind that most requests are unable to be accommodated, due to class size limits or other restrictions.

Note that Counselors must also try to keep class sizes balanced, so requests for certain teachers or certain periods for classes are not normally allowed. To discuss "special considerations," a student must meet with their Academic Counselor or have a parent make contact.

However, only students missing periods or misplaced in the wrong academic classes are allowed to see counselors during class time for a schedule change. Counselors may be available before or after school or during lunch for sign up appointments for other students.

If requesting TA or Early Release/Late Arrival, you must also pick up other required forms from the Counseling Office.

Your counselor may or may not be able to reply to your request. Response answers, if given, are based on class availability at the time of processing. If available, you can check your Student Vue to see if your schedule has been changed. If Student Vue is not active, then every student receives a paper schedule the first day of the term from their advisor.

It is important to have a mature attitude about your schedule, by accepting that throughout high school you will have to experience a number of different teachers and classes. With a positive attitude and hard work you can succeed in any class.
