What is youth leadership staff?

Youth leaders will be a vital part of day camp. They will:

  • Provide leadership for a specific group of campers throughout the week
  • Build community among campers
  • Lead activities as we discover what your gifts and skills are
  • Show respect towards all campers
  • Be a positive role model for the campers 

 Eligibility

  • Youth who are entering 9th grade in the fall of 2026, in high school, or graduating high school this spring are eligible to apply. 
  • Youth must be available for all of day camp: June 15 - 19, from 8:30am—4:30pm. Slight exceptions may be allowed.
  • Youth must be available for a training before camp begins. The training will be Sunday, June 14 from 5 - 7 pm at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church. If you have a conflict, we may be able to accommodate. 

 Compensation

Youth will be paid $200 for their work at day camp. We intend that the money go towards a church-related activity—for example, towards a camp experience or youth trip. But that is not required.
