2019 Spring - Grant Reader application
We invite you to share your voice in our 2019 Spring grantmaking process. Whether you are new to the Grassroots Fund, a current grantee, a donor, a partner, a supporter - your perspective is a valuable part of our decision-making process.

In addition to giving your perspective on 8 to 10 applications as a grant reader, you can indicate on the form below whether you are interested in being considered as a grantmaking committee member. Approximately 10-15 grant readers will be selected to serve on the formal grantmaking committee for the Grow grant program or for the Young Leader program. See below for expectations and time commitments for both roles.

Grant readers:

* Participate in a 1-hour grant reviewer training webinar (Live week of March 18 or recorded)
* Participate in a 1-hour Grassroots Trend Report webinar (Live on week of March 25 or recorded) to learn about current trends, opportunities, & challenges in the Northeast
* For Grow: Review and evaluate 8-10 applications in our online review system (March 25 - April 22)
* For Young Leaders: Review and evaluate 6-8 LOI applications (March 6-14) and 6-8 full applications (April 16 - May 6)
Total time commitment: ~10 hours.

In addition, grantmaking committee members commit to:

* Review summaries of evaluations from grant readers and recommendations from Grassroots Fund staff
* Attend a 2-day in person grantmaking committee meeting retreat in early June, which includes a deeper training on equity & implicit bias (final dates & location to be determined based on availability of Committee Members).
* Help make final recommendations on all Grow grant program or Young Leader grant program requests.
* Receive a $500 stipend for their participation in the retreat as well as travel reimbursement

Total additional hours: ~4 hours, in addition to attending a 2-day retreat (meals & lodging covered by the Grassroots Fund).

While grant readers may have an active application in this round, grantmaking committee members cannot have an active Grow or Young Leader application at this time. Grant readers are asked to complete a confidentiality form and a conflict of interest form ahead of being assigned readings in March.

Deadline to apply is March 1st, 2019.
